Get Fit Where You Sit
Chair Fitness and other forms of chair exercises will help you derive wonderful health benefits regardless of your age, level of activity and physical challenge.
Chair yoga offers you the ability to improve your health through an amazing form of adaptive exercise. While supported by a chair you can receive yoga’s healing and restorative benefits that have been known for thousands of years. Yoga relaxes your body and mind, improves your musculoskeletal fitness and flexibility, and elevates your overall health and well-being.
Chair Yoga can benefit many people, those with disabilities, weight challenges, inflexibility, or who just cannot get on the floor for whatever reason. This type of exercise is great for those in a home or office, and even if you are in a wheelchair, you can receive the benefits.
“Alka is the best! She gently challenges you while, at the same time, encourages you. She guides you through a very comprehensive “workout” and, if you have specific issues or needs, she includes pinpoint exercises that really help you. Alka makes the session enjoyable and gratifying. The benefits of her yoga instruction are definitely noticeable.” – Carter W. (private chair yoga client)
“I never realized how much chair yoga could be useful in my life, taking classes with Alka Kaminer has become important to me. Her classes have helped my arthritis by strengthening my muscle tone and increasing my flexibility. I look forward to every class with her. If you are looking for a way to exercise I recommend you try Alka’s chair yoga class.” – Barbara Heiner

Chair Yoga For Everyone
As a yoga teacher I am privileged to instruct friends and family from time to time. However, when it came to teaching my parents it was a different story. With assistance they were able to make it to the yoga mat, but it just was not comfortable. That motivated me to find something better for them. I decided to get certified in Chair Yoga, which I now teach several times a week!
