The Alzheimer’s Association has been selected for our Yoga for Charity’s fundraiser class for October. Join us for a fun chair yoga class on Thursday October 8th at 1pm (est) to benefit this amazing charity and their vital work. Alka’s close friend Michele has been an active supporter and fundraiser since 2015, after her mother was officially diagnosed with the disease in 2014. Alka is honored to help Michele fundraise for this vital organization.
Alzheimer’s Association
The Alzheimer’s Association is the largest nonprofit voluntary health organization dedicated to accelerating the progress in prevention, cure and living with Alzheimer’s disease.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer’s and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
More information about Alzheimer’s Association is available at: https://www.alz.org.
Yoga for Charity Class
Alka Kaminer will lead us through a healthy and fun hour of exercise and grounding. All you need is a sturdy chair (no wheels), anyone can do it and no experience is needed. Alka is a certified yoga teacher with specializations in Chair Yoga.
Chair yoga offers you the ability to improve your health through an amazing form of adaptive exercise. While supported by a chair you can receive yoga’s healing and restorative benefits that have been known for thousands of years. Yoga relaxes your body and mind, improves your musculoskeletal fitness and flexibility, and elevates your overall well-being.
